Queen Victoria named opal her favorite gemstone in support of the spectacular finds at Lightning Ridge. To capture some of the royal glory of that grand Victorian Age, I used natural Australian light champagne diamonds and rubies in my design.

When the sun rises at Lightning Ridge, the colors over the scrub covered desert are incredible. The sun’s rays bring new joy and optimism in the search for hidden treasures. This opal is a perfect example of such a rare find.

This opal was found at Lambina in South Australia. Natural colored sapphires were used to enhance it’s dancing harlequin pattern.
